Welcome to our Clamshell page.

Clamshells have a long tradition in art and decoration, so it is not surprising that they have also been used in quilting for centuries, be it as a quilting pattern or in the patchwork itself.

Because of their curved shape Clamshells are not recommend for absolute beginners to the technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP)!


We currently produce Clamshells in 4 different sizes ranging from 2 inches to 4 inches (at the widest point, which is equal to the circle the shape originates from).

You can choose from 2 different packet sizes (a small packet and a larger packet).

They tessellate with our 'Simple Leaves' and also the '4-Point' shape, provided the shapes originate from the same size circle! (Therefore the 3 in Clamshell will tessellate with the 1.5 in Leaf and the 4 in Clamshell with the 2 in Leaf).
