Short and with a slightly rounded eye.

The between needles are ideal for quilting. The needles are shorter, as the technique is different to a standard stitch: the needle is pushed horizontally into the fabric with very little space between the stitches. They are usually used with a hand quilting thread, which is stronger than traditional sewing thread.
